We're Number 1!!

Before I get into the number one thing... a few updates first...

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner with family. It was awesome with all the trimmings and pies galore! Scrumptious! I even got along great with the in-laws! :-) We stayed Wed(21st) through Sunday (25th). It was a little long, but we made it okay. My wife did a little shopping with her sisters on that Saturday (no Black Friday shopping for me this year...ha!) and found some neat Christmas decorations for the house.

I mentioned about my daughter in my last post... Well, on the way up to my in-laws, we called the doctor's office and they said, yes, she still had a mild infection. So, after we got to my in-law's, we stopped at the pharmacy and filled the prescription they had given us before we left. After we got back home from Thanksgiving, they said that since they had more time to grow the culture, etc., that antibiotic wasn't going to work, so we had to get a stronger (and of course more expensive) one. I pray she gets over this quick!

Last Wednesday night (Nov 28th), after we got home from church, my daughter's first baby tooth came out! She'd been showing everyone how wiggly it was that evening at church, so maybe that helped it finally come out. It'd been loose for awhile and it gave her troubles with eating, but she wouldn't let us pull it out. She was so excited and of course the Tooth Fairy got to pay a visit. :-)

Now... on to the number one thing...
The Univ. of Missouri's (Mizzou) football team is Number One in the country after beating unbeaten Kansas last Saturday night (24th) to win the Big 12 North division title "Border War" game. WOOO HOOO! This is so cool as they haven't been number one since 1960!! The quarterback for Mizzou, Chase Daniel, is on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine this week (of which I had to get a copy of...). Now the next big challenge is this Saturday's night against Oklahoma for the Big 12 Title. OK is the only team that beat MU this season, so we'll see what happens... Our church is holding a big game party Saturday night in the gym and will be showing the game on the "big" screen! It'll be fun to watch with a bunch of people (as long as MU wins!). If MU can pull this one off, then it's on to the National Title game! COOL - But let's just take one game at a time, shall we? :-)

Blessings!

Happy Thanksgiving

Want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Yeah, I know it's still a couple of days away, but we're leaving tomorrow morning for the in-laws, and I won't have Internet access for awhile, so I had to do this now. :-)

One of my wife's nieces is having the big family gathering at her house this year, so we're going up to stay with my mother-in-law for a few days. It'll be nice to see everyone again.

My daughter finished up her antibiotics last Friday (16th), but on Sunday already complained about her potty stinging when she went to the bathroom. Since then it hasn't happened again, so I hope it was a fluke. She's going to the Dr. today for a follow up to see if she still has any infection. I sure hope not. These frequent Dr. visits and meds are really adding up in costs!

I'm starting work on another large photo montage project. A lady in our church is going to have a surprise 50th birthday party for her husband and wanted a montage to show during the party. She gave me about 55 pics to scan in and then just today emailed me about 86 more! Ahh! I have until Dec. 15th to get it done... (I hope he doesn't read blogs and find out about the secret!)

NewTek *finally* released their VT[5] software upgrade on Nov 9th only after a year and a half of waiting after we pre-ordered it!! Since I was off on Nov. 12th for Veterans Day, I was at the church all morning getting it installed. It went pretty smooth except for having to put on a bunch of updates to Windows XP before it would install. We used it in "production" last Sunday and all went well. Thanks NewTek!!

Remember to give thanks for all the blessings you have this Thanksgiving!
God Bless!

Been Too Long

Ugh. It's been over a month since I've updated this blog. Shame on me. :-)

So many things have happened, there is no way I can fit everything in let alone remember everything! HA!

We got some early Christmas shopping done back on Columbus Day (Oct. 8th) for the kids.

One of my sister-in-laws and my wife's mother came down for a little visit. They came on the Amtrak train, but were delayed for 2 hours due to Amtrak having to let about 15 freight trains go by first (since the freight train companies own the tracks and Amtrak only "rents" them). So, my wife met one of her other sisters halfway to take them back home. We had a nice visit with them though.

Last Friday night (Nov. 2nd), another sister-in-law came down for the night and we had a little campfire in the backyard and cooked hot dogs, ate chili, and made s'mores. It was a perfect night and we had a great time.

Not sure if I mentioned in the blog that we recently got two goldfish from a friend at church. Last night I went downstairs to do something and noticed they weren't moving... uh oh... Yep, they were dead. The kids were already in bed, so I'm not sure if my wife told them this morning or not... I really hate it when pets die... But, I don't consider fish to be much of a pet... You can't really play with them and they don't fetch. :-)

My son picked up big Christmas present today. He got out of school early due to Professional Development day for the teachers. My wife took him to the music store and he picked out his new electric guitar. It's an Austin Les Paul, black, with a Marshall amp. He called me from the store all excited. :-) I told him he can't play it until Christmas. HA! :-) We had gone there a couple weeks ago and they were out of the black ones. He said they had everything he needed (read... wanted). A rock star is born... :-)

Our daughter is still dealing with UTIs and is on yet another antibiotic. This one is a little more potent, thick and doesn't taste good. The Dr. said we could mix it with chocolate syrup which has helped somewhat. We also have to give her Miralax to keep her bowels from backing up which is part of the problem too. I really feel sorry for all this little girl has been going through.

My daughter just called me from my wife's cell phone on their way home from school to tell me that a tooth that has been bothering her is loose. It's her first loose tooth... She was pretty excited.

Enough for now...
Blessings!
