Wired

Yesterday (Apr 21st) before school, my son got his braces applied. He's all fully wired now. Back on the 14th, they put the four spacers in to get him ready. He's doing okay except for the normal pain. There was one little wire that was causing some problems, so they were going to go back to the orthodontist's office after school to see if they could get that adjusted.

This past weekend, we took off for a little trip to Branson, Missouri since we didn't get much of a break during Spring Break. We walked around the Landing which was really neat and got to see a Water & Fire show. We went to eat at Montana Mike's Steak house for dinner. That was really good and had enough time before our show so that we got to go to Baskin Robbins 31 Flavors Ice Cream store for dessert. We went to see The Promise which is a musical play of the story of Jesus Christ. Very professional and very well done. I don't know how they do that every night.

I have a church board meeting tonight so I won't be able to play Rock Band tonight... bummer... My son and I have a "band" and we've finally gotten to the point of winning a tour bus. We're mostly playing on the Easy (sometimes Medium) levels. I play mostly bass (sometimes guitar) and my son plays mostly the drums (he plays the guitar in "real life"). I guess I didn't mention this in my last post, but for my son's birthday, my parents bought him the Rock Band game (complete with guitar, drums and microphone). It's been really fun to play... :-)

Happy Birthday Son!!!

Today is my son's big 13th birthday. We now officially have a teenager in the house besides me! HA! He's having a few friends over tonight for some fun and games and a couple of them are spending the night. Oh joy! Man, I can't believe he's already this old... Seems like yesterday...

Oh man, I can't believe I've let my blog go so long without updating it... It's been over a month since my last post! So many things have happened!

Feb. 23rd, one of my great aunts passed away. On the 26th, I tagged along with my parents for a 3 hour drive to the funeral.

In March (10th), we got some home theater type chairs for my "home theater" room. :-) Very nice reclinable leather chairs with cup holders! Cool! One of my wife's sister and her husband spent the weekend with us over Easter weekend. He nicknamed that area the "Man Cave." I love it! :-)

I took off work when my kids had Spring Break (17th-21st) to complete that bathroom remodeling job. I got it all done and it looks very nice if I do say so myself! Now, no more painting jobs for awhile I hope (although my son wants to repaint his room... hey, he's 13 now, HE can paint it... HA!).

Also during that time off for Spring Break, on the 20th, I had my yearly physical and everything checked out great. I've had a Sun damaged skin spot on my forehead for over a year now, so I setup an appointment to get that frozen off (which I did this morning - Apr. 11th). Then, then next day (21st), we had our annual family dental checkups. No cavities for this family! Yeah! Candy for everyone!! HA!

On Apr 2nd, we had a six month followup checkup for our daughter with a specialist. Everything was in great shape, but we still have to work on the behavioral modification part of things as she's still wanting to hold her potty/poopy to where she has small accidents.

My son is getting prepped for braces, so this past Monday (Apr. 7th) after school, my wife took him to the Dentist to get the last two remaining baby teeth removed. Next Monday, Apr. 14th, he's getting the spacers put on.

Kansas beat Memphis in overtime to win this years NCAA tourney 75-68 on Monday night Apr. 7th. That was a great game! And watching in HD on the big screen sure helped get into the action as well! HA!

Like I mentioned before, I had some damaged skin frozen off this morning before work. I had a spot on my forehead and a spot on my right arm. The spot on my head kept bleeding and oozing some, so it was kind of gross and I was trying to stay away from people until it stopped. ugh. Now I just have this big ugly scab thing on my head. The Dr. said that if it didn't heal up good or if it came back within 6 months, that he'd want to do a biopsy to see if it was skin cancer or not. I'm praying and believing it's not!

I think that just about catches everything up for now... Whew!

Blessings!
