Playing Catch-Up Again
Wow... I've really let my blog posting slip. Again. Quite a lot has happened since the last post.
Aug 1st - My aunt who I work closely with on our family genealogy turned 71. Happy Birthday!
Aug 7th - Barry Bonds broke Hank Aaron's home run record with 756 career hits over the wall.
Aug 9th - A good friend from high school I've kept in touch with had a birthday.
Aug 10th - A co-worker who has been here for 12 years left to start teaching math at a local college. She had taught high school math before starting to work here, so she's returning to her "first love" of teaching.
Aug 16th - 30th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. We actually lived in Memphis, TN for awhile. My dad worked for a RCA repair center and actually got calls to go out to Graceland to fix stereos and TVs a few times for Elvis. Unfortunately, Elvis was never home at the time, but once my dad got the grand tour of the house from Elvis' step-father. In Elvis' bedroom, he had three TVs so that no matter what way he was laying in bed, he could see a TV.
Aug 17th - I took off at 11:30a from work to go with my wife and daughter to visit a bladder/kidney specialist in a nearby town to discuss why our daughter is experiencing frequent urinary tract infections. We finally settled on conducting a VCUG test (look it up on Google). It's been scheduled for Aug. 27th. He said that they won't put her all the way out, but she'd be "loopy" enough to not even know or remember what happened. That's good.
Aug 20th - School started! Our daughter started kindergarten. She was very excited. Mom wasn't so happy. Our little baby is growing up. Our son started seventh grade. We switched him back into the public school system after being in a Lutheran school the past two years. He was pretty excited too.
Aug 21st - I had a church board meeting and went pretty normal. We did discuss remodeling plans for our church kitchen which is in major need of fixing up.
And that brings us to today... My wife called to say that when she dropped off our daughter at school, she threw up (my daughter, not my wife...HA!). So, she got her in to see the Dr. this afternoon. I hope it's not related to the UTI stuff as we "just" got off of a round of antibiotics on the 16th and I hope it doesn't mess up the VCUG appointment we have scheduled for next week.
Blessings!
